Senior Risk Manager (m/f/x) Manufacturing

 

In Vlissingen, Netherlands

 

 

Job summary:

As a Senior Risk Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of big and complex shipbuilding projects. Together with the Project Manager and/or Project Team you will develop long-term risk-mitigation strategies, action plans, and contingency interventions. These plans stem from your rigorous and continuous analysis, identification and classification of potential risks and opportunities which could affect the shipbuilding process. Given the strategic and international dependencies and duration of these naval shipbuilding projects, your scope will include risks and opportunities of geo-political, technical, financial, operational origin. By presenting your findings to the involved stakeholders, you create awareness of these potential risks and opportunities and their implication.


Job description:


As a Senior Risk Manager, you will:

  • Identify all potential risks and opportunities that could impact the success of our shipbuilding projects.
  • Prioritize critical risks through qualitative and quantitative analysis, based on their impact and likelihood.
  • Maintain a comprehensive risk register compliant with legislation, standards, and customer requirements.
  • Develop long-term risk mitigation strategies to integrate risk management.
  • Ensure projects adhere to regulatory and customer Quality standards to minimizing risks.
  • Create regular risk reports and present these to the customer and project management.
  • Assess contracts to ensure equitable risk allocation in compliance.
  • Manage financial risks related to project budgets and implement strategies to minimize financial impact.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of departmental processes.


Required knowledge / experience:

  • Several years of experience as a Risk or Project Manager within the manufacturing industry ((naval) shipbuilding preferred).
  • Solid experience with identifying risks and assessing their severity according to ISO 31000.
  • Experience working in complex and ambiguous project environment comprised of international stakeholders.
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Technical Engineering, Shipbuilding or similar.
  • Knowledge of industrial engineering principles and techniques in offshore/maritime industry ((naval) shipbuilding preferred).
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent references antecedents because a pre-employment security screening is a standard part of the recruitment procedure.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
